What to disclose in your quote
Our estimate is only as accurate as the information you give us. Anything that affects the duration of the move is worth mentioning — that's what makes a quote reliable and a day without surprises.
1Access
- The floor of each address and whether there's an elevator (bookable or not). A third floor with no elevator and an exterior spiral staircase is very different from a ground floor.
- The distance between where the truck can park and your door. A rear entrance through the lane or a 50-metre corridor in a tower changes the time of every trip.
- Narrow stairs, tight turns, doors under 80 cm, low basement ceilings: tell us, and we'll plan disassembly or a balcony hoist.
- Schedule constraints: elevator booked 9 to noon only, keys available at 1 p.m., landlord requiring you out by 5 p.m.
2Contents
- The number of rooms and an estimate of the number of boxes (an average room = 15 to 25 boxes). The online questionnaire guides you room by room.
- All heavy or special items: piano, safe, exercise equipment, marble table, aquarium, large TV, artwork, motorcycle, trailer (see our heavy items guide).
- Furniture to disassemble and reassemble (beds, tables, large bookcases, closet systems) and pieces that aren't ready (contents still inside).
- What stays and what goes elsewhere: a stop at a storage unit, a relative's or the ecocentre is an "extra stop" with its own time.
- The planned packing level: everything packed by you, partial packing by us (kitchen, fragile), or full packing.
3Why it's in your interest
- Our pricing is hourly: a good estimate lets you budget and choose the right crew size (2, 3 or 4 movers) and truck.
- An undeclared heavy item may not be moved that day if the crew or equipment isn't suited — or may extend the day well past the estimate.
- The information you declare is part of your agreement: what's written is protected. You can update your quote up to 48 hours before the move by emailing or calling us.
